This month our guests are writers Michael Gallagher and Lorraine Carey.

Lorraine Carey is a Donegal poet and artist now living in Fenit, Co.Kerry. Her poetry has been widely published in the following : Atrium, The Blue Nib, The Honest Ulsterman, Vine Leaves, Lagan Online, The Galway Review, Olentangy Review, Dodging the Rain, A New Ulster, Quail Bell, Live Encounters, ROPES, North West Words, Sixteen, Stanzas, Picaroon, Laldy, and Launchpad.
A past winner and runner up of The Charles Macklin Poetry Competition, she was a runner up in the 2017 Trocaire / Poetry Ireland Competition. Shortlisted in the Originals Category at Listowel Writers’ Week 2015, she has contributed poetry to several anthologies. Her artwork was chosen as the cover image for Issue 15 of Three Drops From A Cauldron and six pieces featured in the August issue of Dodging the Rain. Her debut collection From Doll House Windows is available from Revival Press.

Michael Gallagher was born on Achill Island, worked in London for forty years and retired to Listowel in 1999. His prose, poetry, haiku and songs have been published in Ireland and throughout Europe, America, Australia, Nepal, India, Thailand, Japan and Canada. His writing has been translated into Croatian, Japanese, Dutch, German and Chinese.
He won the 2009 Samhlaiocht Poetry Slam, the 2010 Michael Hartnett Viva Voce competition; he was short listed for the Hennessy Award in 2011 and won the Desmond O’Grady International Poetry Contest in 2012. He launched his first collection Stick on Stone (Revival press) at Listowel Writers Week 2013.
Michael is a founder member of Listowel’s Seanchai Writer’s Group.

The Limerick Writers’ Centre is currently unfunded and depends for revenue from sales of books and donations.
