Kate O’Shea is probably the best-known unknown poet in Dublin. People who know her refer to her as the poets’ poet.
She was short-listed for the Patrick Kavanagh Award twice in two consecutive years, and also made the short-list for the Cork Literary Review Manuscript Competition and Erbacce-Press in 2017.
An accomplished performer on the open-mic circuit at home, she wrote about her experiences in Poetry Ireland Review Magazine (2003), and has also read in New York and Rome.
One of the youngest members of the Dublin Writers’ Workshop, she went on to found Chocolate Sundaes at La Cave with mime, William Kennedy, and the poet, Christopher Daybell, in the mid nineties.
Her chapbook, Crackpoet,(Wurm Press, 2013), is available on Amazon.
